Description: The corner of a table set by Mary Whitehouse, wife of diplomat Edwin Sheldon Whitehouse, for an exhibition of table settings. A white damask tablecloth with lace inserts covers the table. The dinner plates are gilt-edged and glazed with roses, by Spode. Next to each plate is a set of silver knives and forks from Tiffany, a pair of crystal goblets from Hawkes, silver salt and pepper shakers, and silver cigarette bowls. At the center of the table, in a silver vase, is an arrangement of red and pink roses.
